What are MALO DENTAL All-on-4® implants?
As the name suggests, the All-on-4® dental implant protocol is a revolutionary treatment, developed by the MALO DENTAL, that allows your dentist to place four dental implants and a fixed bridge of teeth during one appointment. This means that an entire mouthful of teeth can be replaced with All-on-4® dental implants and a non-removable set of new teeth in as little as one day.
What makes MALO DENTAL All-on-4® dental implants unique?
First, the MALO DENTAL All-on-4® treatment procedure is convenient and straightforward; completed by your dentist in one day, in most cases, thus saving you time. Second, All-on-4® treatment is an affordable alternative to conventional dental implants; dramatically improving how you smile and boosting your confidence.
Your new teeth will be easy to maintain; cleaned and cared for just like natural teeth, lasting you decades or for the rest of your life when maintained correctly. Lastly, All-on-4® implants will give you denture-free living. So, no more dentures to misplace, accidentally spit out when talking, remove after eating to clean, take out when feeling uncomfortable, etc...

What materials are used to make my All-on-4® teeth? Are there options?
Your semi-removable All-on-4® prosthesis (your teeth) can be made from various materials based on your needs and budget.
The most common prosthesis is composed of a milled titanium bar with acrylic teeth and gum placed on top.
Alternatively, you could select a prosthesis made of zirconia and ceramic teeth for ultimate high-end aesthetics or other materials depending on the finish you desire.
Please note, your full-arch prosthesis cannot be removed by you, but can be removed by your dentist for maintenance, if necessary.
Can I really get a complete set of new teeth in one day?
Yes! The All-on-4® dental implant protocol only takes one day out of your busy routine to achieve a full set of permanent natural-looking teeth. This will give you a new long-lasting smile that we’re certain will have a big impact on your life and well-being.
Am I a suitable candidate for MALO DENTAL All-on-4® dental implants?
If you’re about to lose your teeth or you currently wear dentures, then you’re an ideal candidate for All-on-4® dental implants for a permanent set of new teeth.
Where do I go for my MALO DENTAL All-on-4® dental treatment?
Conveniently, all of Face & Smile’s All-on-4® treatment procedures are performed at our 212 Drummond Street North, Ballarat MALO DENTAL and Surgical Centre.
For complex cases, if needed, we bring maxillofacial surgeons or other All-on-4® dental surgeons with specific clinical case experience to our Surgical Centre in Ballarat to perform the operations. This suits our patients; saving them time, travel and worry.
I still have some teeth. Will they need to be removed for me to have All-on-4® dental implants?
No, not necessarily... Preserving your remaining healthy teeth is a priority, when it’s possible to do so. Your Face & Smile dentist will advise you accordingly, during your initial consultation, about what’s possible and best for your current circumstance and future oral health.
How long does the MALO DENTAL All-on-4® procedure take?
Typically, the All-on-4® surgery takes up to two hours per arch – so up to four hours for both upper and lower arches – all performed while you’re under full sedation. Then, you’ll go home with your fixed set of new teeth, all done in one day. The recommended recovery time is around one to two weeks, with only light duties being performed while you heal.

I have bone loss. Could MALO DENTAL All-on-4® implants work for me?
Yes! About 80% of patients who’ve been advised that traditional fixed bridge or other dental implants aren’t going to perform well for them due to significant bone loss, are, in fact, perfect candidates for the All-on-4® dental implant procedure.
All-on-4® dental implants use the stronger, denser front part of your jaw and, in most cases, the procedure requires no bone grafting or sinus augmentation.
What types of food will I be able to eat with my new teeth?
If you previously had few or no teeth, or an uncomfortable ill-fitting bridge or plate, after your All-on-4® treatment is complete, you’ll notice the difference. You’ll be able to eat, bite and chew normally again. You’ll need to consume soft foods for the first three months after your All-on-4® surgery until your new implants have completely fused (‘osseointegrated’) with your jaw bone. We’ll advise you on a suitable diet following your All-on-4® surgery.
How much do MALO DENTAL All-on-4® dental implants cost? Do you offer payment plans?
At your initial All-on-4® consultation, after we’ve fully examined your mouth, we’ll outline the estimated cost of the All-on-4® treatment for you.
All-on-4® dental implants are a high-end dental procedure however the costs can be up to 50% less than a conventional implant approach. Dr Johnston will identify any possible complications to your treatment and advise you accordingly.
